Memoirs of my craft addiction.

My New Year's resolution:
I will not buy anything I can make.
Unfortunately, I'm a materialistic girl.

So here I am.
Learning how to make my own clothes,
Bedding,
Accessories,

and even lingerie.

I made my niece a jersey lined faux fur vest.

She’ll appreciate this effort 20 years from now.

I’ve got a trip coming up at the end of the month and figured I’ll need some luggage tags.

After getting tired of my paper bags falling apart I decided to make something more durable.
The Burlap bag on the right turned out a lot better than I expected.

One of the easiest most fulfilling projects I’ve done in the past is renewing this leather bag.
It was a very worn out brown color when I first bought it from the thrift store. I had the idea to paint it a bold color, to bring it back to life. So I went to Tandy Leather Factory and purchased a small bottle (a little goes a long way) of their acrylic paints in a deep red color.I lightly sanded the bag to prep it and went to work.
The entire bag took about an hour and 2 coats painted with a crafting sponge brush. The results we’re impressive.
I ended up giving the bag to a kindred spirit/my mentor.
